Looking for a part-time role where no two days are the same? As a Food Service Worker Floater, you?ll support various school sites in preparing and serving meals, keeping kitchens running smoothly wherever help is needed. If you?re reliable, adaptable, and enjoy being part of a team, this flexible position is a great way to make a meaningful impact across your community.
Position SummaryThe Food Service Worker Floater provides support to multiple school kitchens within a district. This role is responsible for preparing meals, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering friendly service wherever coverage is needed. Floaters must be dependable, flexible, and quick to adapt to new environments, teammates, and routines.
Key ResponsibilitiesTravel between school sites as scheduled to assist with daily kitchen operationsPrepare and serve food according to recipes, production records, and safety standardsKeep workspaces clean, organized, and safeRestock serving areas such as food lines, salad bars, and milk boxesAssist with receiving and organizing deliveries using FIFO practicesServe meals to students, staff, and guests with a positive attitudePerform routine cleaning tasks like sweeping, mopping, and trash removalFollow all health and safety regulations at each siteStep in to support kitchen teams or cover absencesSubmit reports and complete assigned tasks on timeTake direction from Kitchen Managers and adjust quickly to new team dynamicsQualificationsPrevious food service or cleaning experience preferredReliable transportation and ability to travel to different locations dailyStrong work ethic, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing needsComfortable working in fast-paced and varying environmentsBasic math and computer skillsMust pass a background check and fingerprint screening and MVREnjoys working around children and being part of a school communityRespectful, inclusive, and able to work with diverse teamsPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsMust be able to stand for an entire shift and lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyFrequent bending, reaching, walking, and use of handsVarying kitchen environments with moderate noise levelsFull-time schedule, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended weeksMust be able to drive between school sites and attend company meetings as neededWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer, Gender/Minority/Veterans/Disabled and participates with E-Verify Employment Eligibility Program
