Overview We are seeking a dedicated Food Coworker to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. This role involves supporting daily food preparation, service, and sanitation tasks to ensure a positive experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food handling, customer service, and retail operations within the food industry. Responsibilities As a Food Service Team Member ensuring operational excellence of IKEA Food, you will: Prepare and maintain IKEA Food menu items according to the IKEA Food concept. Adhering to food handling, health, and sustainability standards. Respond to customer inquiries to support informed purchases and process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, adhering to cash handling policies. Maintain equipment operation through adherence to operating guidelines, troubleshooting breakdowns, and conducting preventive and cleaningmaintenance. Maintain a clean supply of dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, and trays that comply with Food Safety Standards. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of dining and play areas. Manage the Swedish Food Market by overseeing merchandising, pricing, stock rotation, and the cleaning and sanitization of sampling equipmentand areas. Ensure accurate and timely price communication across all food solutions, including digital platforms, menu boards, and shelf tags. Maintain supply rotation and stocking in all IKEA Food solutions, adhering to First In, First Out (FIFO), expiration dates, and sustainability standards. Implements IKEA Food policies and procedures for goods receiving and monthly inventory. Adhere to safe food handling, workplace safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations, promptly reporting concerns to managers. Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers Skills Proficiency in food preparation techniques and familiarity with kitchen equipment is essential. Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS enhances efficiency in sales processing. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively across diverse audiences. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures is required. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods without compromising quality or safety. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and accurate order processing are necessary. Previous restaurant or quick service & fast food restaurant experience is highly desirable for success in this role. Ability to work efficiently in a retail or grocery store environment while maintaining attention to detail. A positive attitude coupled with reliability and teamwork orientation will contribute significantly to team success.
