The Fall Line-Butler, GA About The Fall Line The Fall Line is a premier private destination golf and sporting club located in Southwest Georgia. Our club offers state-of-the-art facilities, including two Ogilvy, Cocking and Mead-designed 18-hole golf courses, a 9-hole short course, and world-class facilities for shooting, hunting, and angling. In addition to our outstanding outdoor offerings, we pride ourselves on exceptional hospitality, with multiple dining and lodging options, all enhanced by our 25-acre farm that serves as the centerpiece of our 4,500-acre property. Position Summary The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will be an integral part of The Fall Line's management team and is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that conveys to members and staff a sense of ownership and responsibility for the entire Club. Working closely with Food & Beverage manager, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will use their experience, leadership, and hospitality skills to help lead the Food & Beverage team in the execution of a world-class dining and member experience. Responsibilities will include supervising and training staff, setting and monitoring compliance with service standards, assisting with daily dining operations, maintaining operational readiness, and ensuring all Food & Beverage facilities consistently meet The Fall Line's standards. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will be expected to actively engage with members and guests to better understand their preferences, anticipate needs, and help tailor offerings and service accordingly. This position requires a hands-on leader who is highly visible during service and willing to step into any area necessary to support the team and protect the member experience. Primary Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises Food & Beverage Department staff and provides daily leadership, direction, coaching, and accountability. Assists with the development and execution of training programs designed to establish consistent service standards and develop employees at all experience levels. Conducts pre-shift meetings and ensures staff are prepared with current information regarding menus, specials, events, member preferences, and operational priorities. Monitors employee performance and provides real-time coaching to ensure service is consistent with The Fall Line's standards. Ensures all applicable laws, regulations, and Club policies related to food and beverage operations are consistently followed. Assists with the development and execution of standard operating procedures for dining, beverage, banquet, and other Food & Beverage service. Works closely with the Executive Chef to ensure strong communication and coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Engages members and guests to understand their preferences, respond to requests, resolve concerns, and continually improve the overall dining experience. Directs key staff members in maintaining and preparation of the Range Barn, Farm Barn, Brandt House, Founders Barn, Halfway Houses, Turn House, Shooting Lodge, Comfort Stations, and F&B Carts for regular service, member events, tournaments, and special functions. Monitors opening and closing procedures, cleaning schedules, stocking lists, side work, and other daily operational requirements. Maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, appearance, and operational readiness throughout all Food & Beverage areas. Ensures adequate supplies of sodas, mixers, bottled water, snacks, paper products, disposable products, and other operating supplies are maintained. Assists with Food & Beverage inventories, including beverages, glassware, china, flatware, and operating supplies. Monitors glassware, china, flatware, linens, and service equipment inventories and communicates replacement needs to Food & Beverage leadership. Assists with beverage inventory controls and monthly inventory processes as directed. Supports cost-control initiatives through monitoring of labor, waste, product usage, and operating supplies. Helps establish and maintain routine maintenance schedules for Food & Beverage equipment, refrigeration, bars, storage areas, and other service-related equipment. Ensures service areas, equipment, storage rooms, and bars remain properly organized and maintained. Ensures fireplaces and other member-facing amenities within dining facilities are maintained appropriately, including fire preparation, ash removal, and restocking firewood when applicable. Coordinates with Golf Operations, Lodging, Concierge, Culinary, Events, and other departments to ensure seamless service across the Club. Assists with staffing plans and schedules based on reservations, anticipated member activity, events, tournaments, and other operational needs. Provides management coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, special events, and other periods as assigned. Assumes manager-on-duty responsibilities when designated. Identifies operational concerns and communicates recommendations for improving service, efficiency, training, and the member experience. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary to support Food & Beverage operations and the overall needs of the Club. Leadership Expectations The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is expected to demonstrate a strong sense of proprietorship and understand that leadership responsibility extends beyond the immediate Food & Beverage operation.
The successful candidate will:
Lead by example and consistently demonstrate The Fall Line's standards of professionalism and hospitality. Be highly visible and actively engaged with members, guests, and staff during service. Take ownership of problems and work proactively to resolve issues before they negatively affect the member experience. Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable in a professional and respectful manner. Coach and develop employees through consistent feedback and hands-on training. Maintain composure and sound judgment during high-volume or rapidly changing operating conditions. Foster teamwork and positive working relationships across all Club departments. Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed to support the overall Club operation. Qualifications Previous Food & Beverage leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in a private club, luxury resort, upscale hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment. Strong understanding of front-of-house restaurant and beverage operations. Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, coach, and develop employees. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with members, guests, employees, and leadership. Demonstrated commitment to exceptional hospitality and personalized service. Experience with scheduling, inventory control, cost management, point-of-sale systems, and operational controls preferred. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol-service requirements. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment. Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when addressing member or employee concerns. ServSafe and responsible alcohol-service certification preferred or required within an established period following hire. Physical and Scheduling Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items commonly associated with Food & Beverage operations. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors depending on operational requirements. Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on Club needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, and special events. Work hours may fluctuate based on member participation, events, seasonal business demands, and overall Club operations.
