The Banquet Captain will work closely with the Hotel's Food and Beverage Department, both front-of-house and back-of-house. This position leads & services banquet functions for the hotel. Responsible for leading the banquet team during banquet functions to ensure positive customer experience. You'll enjoy this job because... Coordinate food service between kitchen and banquet service staff & guests Review and implement table and seating diagrams Operate as banquet server during functions including set up, greeting, and serving guest assisting staff with breaking down of function Assist with all reasonable bar back duties and control transfers with stock inventory Set example and adhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standards Maintain critical standards for product quality, service speed, cleanliness and sanitation in front and back of house. Manage all opening and closing side work, inspection duties, and captain's report. Ensure proper training on quality and service standards and have the tools & equipment to effectively carry out their job functions Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals Assist in pre-service and periodic training Complete accurate bill according to BEO and obtain signature from guest Assist Banquet Manager in training of staff when needed Requirements... Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written Strong administrative skills, to include business writing, mathematics for basic accounting and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity Ability to work calmly under stressful situations Maintain high level of guest satisfaction is an absolute requirement for this position
