A Busser, Banquet Worker, or Cafeteria Attendant assists with food service at a restaurant, large banquet hall or cafeteria. Removes used dishes, sets tables with clean dishes and linens, replenishes foods served at food stations or buffet tables, and provides water, coffee or other beverages for patrons.
The job of Lead Food Service Worker is to provide support to the Food Service Manager at the assigned Just a Dash school site location with the specific responsibilities of running the daily operation of the cafeteria in compliance with state and Federal policies, procedures, rules, regulations and guidelines. As well as providing quality customer service to both internal and external customers. The Lead Food Service Worker will be responsible for the implementation of the Just A Dash Catering standard of nutrition, food production, accountability and student services at the assigned site.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes responsibilities for ordering, receiving, storing, handling, preparing and serving of food according to established standards for the Just A Dash and the School Nutrition Programs Maintains accurate child nutrition paperwork, to include food and equipment inventories, production records, and orders Meets all deadlines for paperwork. Operates computer to include but not limited to: downloads, food orders, food inventory, end of day and month procedures, and the ability to send and receive e-mail. Reconciles meals served and meals delivered to meal counts for maintaining accurate records and complying with established policies and/or procedures. Collects items to be processed (e.g. money, tickets, etc.) for recording, reporting and sending on to other personnel. Inspects food deliveries; inspects all food services areas for cleanliness; inspects food preparation; monitors temperatures on freezer, refrigerator and food for compliance with local health standards and Just A Dash Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring the safety of all food products. Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition (e.g. cleaning and sanitizing steam tables, trays, counters, pots, pans, utensils, etc.) for compliance with local health standards and Just a Dash standards and ensuring the safety of all food products. Reports equipment malfunctions for compliance with local health standards and Just A Dash. Maintains storage areas for ensuring a clean and safe work area. Models a high standard of Customer Service and nondiscriminatory, practices in all activities. Assists in training Food Service Workers to open and close the operation in the absence of the Lead Food Service Worker to include: starting computer, downloading, performing end of day procedures. Ability to cook, serve and cashier when needed. Ability to prepare menu items daily following NSLP guidelines as per the production record, using approved Just A Dash Catering or USDA recipes. Daily Compliance with food safety practices as outlined in the Illinois Food Code for food safety. Ability to follow all Just a Dash Management, Inc. policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Just A Dash Standard Operating Procedures Manual. Serves food items for meeting mandated nutritional requirements and/or requests of students and school personnel. Prepares food and beverage items for meeting mandated nutritional and projected meal requirements. Participates in promotions to increase meals served and educate students about healthy eating habits. Attends all mandatory scheduled meetings, participates in onsite training, etc. for gaining information required to perform job functions. Performs other related duties as assigned for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have 1 -2 years experience working within a K-12 school food service program. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, ability to stand for more than 4 hours, ability to meet the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. WORK ENVIRONMENT

$16.75 - $17.50 per hour
