Job Description

Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire a Food Service Worker for the Nutrition Services Department. This position is PRN (as needed), 16-24 hours per week, varies 4:30pm-7:30pm. The Food Service Worker gathers and prepares food and supplies for patient trays and cafeteria service. Assembles patient trays and delivers, and picks up trays from units. Serves in the cafeteria. Maintains work area in a sanitary condition and maintains safety precautions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Food service experience is preferred, but not required Diploma/GED not required
SKILLS:
Food preparation Customer service Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Uses diet order and Cardex to prepare diet identification for each patient. Prepares census sheet indicating types and numbers of each diet. Prepares and portions salads, desserts, and beverages on the menu in quantity determined by menus, census, and preferences. Places appropriate condiments, paper goods, beverages, salad, and desserts on the tray efficiently and accurately. Uses cash registers competently. Delivers and picks up trays from patient care areas and returns to kitchen. Demonstrates good customer service skills. Labels snacks, delivers AM & PM snacks to patient rooms, leaves HS snacks in diet kitchen, as needed. Keeps diet kitchens stocked to par levels and fills requisitions received. Uses portion control when serving. Keeps cafeteria line stocked with food and supplies. Wears gloves for making sandwiches. Completes cleaning and sanitation procedures. Covers, labels, dates all foods prior to storage. Completes all job duties and operates equipment to prevent personal injury. Scrapes and washes dishes using good infection control. Uses good hand washing. Keeps track of calorie counts. Harrison County Hospital has continuously served the people of Harrison County since 1950.
