Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare and serve food items; perform cashiering duties as assigned; maintain food service facilities, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to perform assigned duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Prepare and/or package food items; assemble various ingredients; heat, package and wrap food items according to established procedures, portion control standards and

HACCP standards.

2. Maintain food service facilities, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition

according to HACCP standards; clean serving areas, counters, tables, food containers,

refrigerators and food service equipment; operate dish washers and wash trays, pots,

pans, plates, utensils and other serving equipment as assigned.

3. Prepare and assemble entrees, fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, desserts and other

assigned foods for distribution as needed; prepare food items as assigned; mix, slice and

chop food items as assigned; assist in assuring proper temperature of foods.

4. Assist in the receipt, storage and rotation of food items and supplies in storage areas as

assigned; assist with inventory activities as directed; open cans and boxes and replenish

containers as necessary.

5. Safely operate standard food service equipment including but not limited to ovens,

slicers, food carts, can openers, warmers, steam-jacketed kettles, rotary ovens, proofers,

assembly lines and mixers.

6. Maintain routine records related to assigned activities.

7. Perform related duties as assigned by the Administrator to meet the particular needs of

the building/unit.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD

New employees must successfully complete their probationary period to be eligible to apply for posted positions.

Employees must remain in their current position a minimum of sixty (60) calendar days to be eligible to apply for any non-lateral posted position.

Current non-probationary employees may only apply for lateral positions at the end of each school year.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an

employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to speak and hear. The

employee is required to have dexterity of hands and fingers. The employee is required to

stand for extended periods of time. Performing assigned duties which require bending,

kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontally. The

employee will be required to push/pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

The employee will be exposed to cold temperatures for extended periods of time, and

could complete repetitive work. Specific vision abilities required by this job include seeing to monitor food quality and quantity.
