This hands-on management position is ideal for an experienced banquet professional ready to transition from leading banquet service to helping manage the overall banquet operation. Working alongside the Banquet Manager, you'll assist with planning, staffing, event execution, and department leadership while serving as the acting manager whenever needed. From elegant weddings and corporate meetings to galas and social celebrations, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and flawless event execution. WHAT YOU'LL DO
As our Assistant Banquet Manager , you'll partner closely with the Banquet Manager to oversee the successful execution of events from planning through completion. In addition to leading the banquet team, you'll help manage daily operations, assist with scheduling and event preparation, and serve as the acting Banquet Manager whenever multiple events occur simultaneously or the Banquet Manager is unavailable. Event Operations Assist in coordinating banquet room set-ups, event timelines, and service execution. Review and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure events are properly staffed, prepared, and executed. Support weddings, meetings, conferences, galas, and social events from setup through breakdown. Monitor event flow and ensure exceptional service throughout each function. Maintain banquet rooms, equipment, and service areas to Hotel Monroe standards. Team Leadership Assist the Banquet Manager in supervising the banquet department and supporting daily operations. Lead banquet teams during events and ensure service standards are consistently maintained. Serve as the acting Banquet Manager when assigned, taking full responsibility for event execution and guest satisfaction. Assist with scheduling banquet staff based on event needs and business demands. Help recruit, train, coach, and develop banquet team members. Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Guest Experience Ensure every guest receives polished, attentive, and anticipatory service. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, event hosts, and vendors during assigned events. Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally while maintaining an exceptional guest experience. Uphold the high service standards expected of The Hotel Monroe and Cornerstone Hospitality. Operations & Organization Coordinate with culinary, sales, housekeeping, front desk, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless event execution. Assist with banquet inventory, equipment, and supply management. Monitor banquet room setup, service flow, breakdown, and post-event inspections. Help maintain labor efficiency while supporting department scheduling. Ensure banquet spaces are reset, organized, and prepared for upcoming events.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required Qualifications 2+ years of banquet, catering, hotel, or upscale restaurant experience. Previous experience as a Banquet Captain, Banquet Supervisor, or other hospitality leadership role required. Demonstrated ability to lead entire banquet events, not just banquet service. Experience reading, interpreting, and executing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent guest service, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to multitask while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Professional appearance and commitment to exceptional hospitality. Experience with POS systems preferred. Reliable transportation. Ability to pass a background check.
