This position plays an important role in ensuring students receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment under the direct supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor, Nutrition Manager, and the Director of Food Services Manager. These positions are for 7 hours per day when school is in session (35 hours per week).
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work with students, staff, and Administration. Has manual dexterity to handle knives and other pieces of kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, steamers, ovens, and dishwashers. DUTIES (NOTLIMITED TO
): Serves and presents food in a visually appealing manner. Operates kitchen equipment such as, but not limited to ovens, slicers, steamers, stove tops, warmers and dishwashers. Conforms to all safe food handling, storage, and sanitation methods in accordance with department guidelines. Prepares food according to the recipes and directions provided by the Food Services Department. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor, Nutrition Manager, or Director of Food Services.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift cases up to 40 pounds and carry them to/from storage areas Prolonged standing and reaching Tolerance for variations in temperature, including working in cold or hotBenefits
