QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate with food service training and applicable work experience in K-12 preferred. Ability to meet all requirements of school nutrition programs in the areas of quantity food production, food preparation and service skills. Servsafe Sanitation Certification required (or will be able to pass exam within 60 days after hire, employer provided) food service knowledge, and quality customer service experience required. Cashier experience is beneficial. Must be able to lift a minimum of Twenty-five (25) pounds, bend, stoop and stand throughout the workday.
REPORTS TO
Food Service Unit Manager, under the direction of the Director of Food Services.
JOB GOALS
Produce and provide meals to the student body in a timely, effective, and positive manner.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
The food service cafeteria assistant shall be evaluated annually.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Assist the Unit Manager in the preparation of school meals, completes assignments in production and is able to meet productivity requirements.2.Activity participates to meet the standards and requirements of the school food service program.3.Completes production assignments and fulfills documentation required to meet state and federal nutrition guidelines.4.Operates and Maintains POS and all food service equipment.5.Assist the Unit manager to complete all tasks as required to support operating a school kitchen and cafeteria.6.Maintains positive interactions with all internal and external customers. Positive customer service skills are required. 7.Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Unit Manager.
