Kitchen Prep / Food Service Worker Wellesley, MA Position Summary We are seeking dependable and hardworking Kitchen Prep / Food Service Workers to support a busy school dining operation. This position assists the culinary team with food preparation, kitchen organization, meal service, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, cutting, chopping, and portioning ingredients. Prepare food items according to instructions provided by chefs and kitchen supervisors. Set up food stations and assist with meal service. Restock food, utensils, and kitchen supplies as needed. Wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, and kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize workstations, counters, equipment, and food preparation areas. Sweep and mop kitchen and dining areas as assigned. Properly store food and supplies following food-safety procedures. Follow all sanitation, food-handling, and safety guidelines. Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries when needed. Work cooperatively with kitchen and dining staff to ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule. Perform additional kitchen duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Previous kitchen, restaurant, cafeteria, catering, or food-service experience is preferred but not required. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Dependable attendance and punctuality are required. Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices is a plus. Must be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to approximately 30-40 lbs. Must be willing to follow school and workplace safety requirements. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, able to maintain a clean work area, and willing to assist wherever needed.
