ISF Trading is a seafood market on the Portland waterfront at 390 Commercial St. We are hiring three full-time market assistants to join our team.

Schedule:

Weekdays (Monday - Friday), 30-40 hours per week, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours. Typical shift is 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 4-5 days a week. No experience is required. We provide paid training and paid trial shifts so you can see if the role is a good fit before committing. What you'll do: Operate the cash register and handle customer payments Greet customers and answer basic questions about our seafood Restock seafood, shelves, coolers and freezer areas Keep the market clean, tidy and organised Help customers with simple dine-in service Follow food safety and hygiene standards Pitch in on general shop duties during busy periods What we're looking for: Conversational English, enough to serve customers confidently Friendly and helpful with customers Reliable and punctual — we're a small team and we depend on each other Comfortable working around seafood and cold storage Able to stand for a full shift and lift boxes up to 40 lbs Willing to help with different tasks, not only the register Retail, cashier, restaurant or food service experience is helpful but not required Ability to serve Mandarin- or Japanese-speaking customers is a plus What we offer: $17.00-$18.50 per hour, reviewed after 90 days Free on-site parking Employee discount Paid training and paid trial shifts A small, friendly team on the working waterfront Ready to apply?
