Oxford-Cumberland Canal School The Westbrook School Department is seeking Food Service Helpers for Canal Elementary School for 3 hours a day. As a food servicen helper, the selected candidate will be working with one cook in the kitchen preparing food for the Canal students in grades Pre K through Grade 4. Canal Elementary School is a 270 student school. We participate in the National School Breakfast & Lunch Programs, as well as the Fresh Fruit & Vegetables Program and the Child & Adult Care Food Program for afterschool meals. We participate in the Community Eligibility Program which provides all meals for no charge for students. As a small neighborhood school, Canal believes in working collaboratively with families and the community to support all our students. Strong relationships within our school community and with community partnerships enable us to foster academic growth while supporting social, emotional, and basic needs. We customize our instructional practices to best support our population through the inclusion of Title 1, MultiLingual, Special Education, Alternative Learning, Gifted and Talented, and counseling services in our family atmosphere. Through our work with PBIS and BARR we build on student assets and school pillars to cultivate and grow strong connections and caring relationships.
