Server Assistant Forest | Birmingham, MI About the Restaurant Defined by elegant precision and a polished Mediterranean perspective, Forest serves contemporary Continental cuisine in a sleek, glass-encased dining room. We are a study in understated simplicity at the highest level, where every detail of the guest experience is intentionally crafted. The Role The Server Assistant is the engine of our dining room. This role requires a high level of situational awareness and the ability to maintain the flow of service with "invisible" efficiency. You will support the service team by ensuring the dining room remains immaculate and that guest needs are met proactively before they are even voiced.
Key Responsibilities Dining Room Fluidity:
Maintain the pace of service by clearing and resetting tables with precision and speed.
Water & Bread Service:
Ensure guests are greeted with immediate attention to water and bread service, maintaining these throughout the meal.
Technical Support:
Assist servers with food running, marking tables with the correct silver for upcoming courses, and crumbing tables between courses.
Atmosphere Management:
Monitor the dining room for cleanliness, ensuring all stations are stocked and the environment remains polished.
Team Collaboration:
Act as a vital link between the front-of-house and the dish/kitchen teams to ensure a seamless cycle of service. Qualifications Previous experience in an upscale or fine-dining environment is preferred but not required for those with a strong work ethic. A professional, refined presence and the ability to move through a dining room with grace and purpose. Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive "sense of urgency." Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs. Availability for evening shifts, Monday through Saturday. Why Forest?
