This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment and have a passion for promoting healthy eating habits among students. Substitutes will assist in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of meals while ensuring a safe and hygienic food service environment. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with established menus and dietary guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas, including dining rooms, kitchens, and storage spaces. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. Help with inventory management, including receiving and storing food and supplies. Support the Food Service staff in daily operations and special events as required. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other team members to foster a positive dining experience. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or designated staff. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in food service or a related field is a plus but not required. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings and afternoons, as needed. Must pass a background check and any required health screenings. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
