Hiring Department Mizzou Campus Dining. Job Description This position includes food preparation, service, and/or sanitation tasks. Prepare food by reading and following recipes according to instructions. Follow proper food handling techniques. Assist in completing the Serving Line Worksheets. Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area. Set up service/preparation areas as assigned. Provide high-quality service to customers; assist in meeting the department's customer service objectives. Direct, help train, and assist student employees in food preparation and service. Clean and replenish the service/preparation areas, dining room, and dishwashing/pot-and-pan areas during and after service. Complete required training. Help the department constantly improve and reach its vision. Perform other duties as assigned. Shift 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday-Friday. With some closing possible and occasional weekends based on the needs of the operation. Minimum Qualifications A job offer for this position is contingent on passing a physical examination to determine if the candidate possesses the physical capabilities necessary to perform the essential functions. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math. Six months experience in the preparation and service of food in an institutional or commercial food service facility. Knowledge of basic food preparation, including basic knife skills, and service and sanitation methods. Ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen utensils and supplies (e.g. 40 pounds) Good physical health. Customer service and supervisory experience with a desire to provide high-quality customer service is strongly preferred.
