Manager Job Summary:
The main function is to provide concessions to members and guests with optimal customer service.
General Responsibilities :
Preparing smoothies, Lotus drinks and cold case food as directed by Y Café Manager Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, outside area, storage closets and patio Cleaning all the equipment and supplies used daily Attend food safety class Attend all scheduled meetings Wear assigned uniforms & name tags Must have high level of energy and be able to exercise patience High Christian morals and be a role model for the members Use positive language to children and members Exchange of money and use of register for concession sales
Job Duties :
Supervise and monitor the safety of participates in the café To participate with special events, the YMCA puts on Clean equipment in and outside area as listed on cleaning list Enforce all YMCA policies Exchange of money and use of register for concession sales Counting Drawer at end of shift Inform the children of the core values of the YMCA in positive way when disciplining a child. Clean Café lobby & Kitchen at the end of shift Mop and Sweep Lobby, Kitchen, and Closets at end of shift Wash Dishes & any other duties assigned by the Y Café Manager Skills, Education, and Experience Maintain an up-to-date CPR, First Aid, AED certification Strong communication skills and organization skills Strong attention to detail Ability to prioritize and multi-task Be punctual, show up on time for your shift Be able to multitask Project professional appearance High level of energy and creativity required Ability to follow verbal or written direction Must have knowledge of commercial food preparation, sanitation, and preparation Must attend food training yearly and keep food certification up to date. All employees must complete assigned Praesidium trainings PRIOR to starting employment
Physical Qualifications :
Speaking, hearing, seeing, reading, writing, typing, lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing for at least 8 hours.
Working Conditions :
Café Worker will be working with members, staff and their children daily. They will be working outside and inside depending on the day. They will be standing for most of the shift preparing food. They will be cleaning, help to keep the room organized and clean at all times.
Restrictions :
Café Worker are prohibited from using cell phones, iPods, or any other distracting devices while on shift. Personal items put away in closet Prohibited to eat & drink in kitchen Must wear hairnet/ hat, tennis shoes, and gloves while working All employees are required to work at least 8 hours per month to maintain complimentary membership status. All other guidelines must be followed in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
