Job Description

Position:
Breakfast Attendant Hours:
Breakfast is served every day. Breakfast attendant must be available to work mornings including holidays unless a minimum of two week notice is given for requested days off.
Shifts:
Daily shift is 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and other hours as determined by business
Position Summary:
Breakfast attendant is responsible for keeping the breakfast area neat and clean and for maintaining the breakfasts personalized product quality and quantity. Attendant is also responsible for providing personalized guest service every day.
Reports To:
Guest Services Manager Tasks and Competencies:
Be present during the hours that our breakfast is open. When you are not replenishing items, socialize with the guests. Greet every guest in a sincere and friendly manner. Smile and make eye contact. Use friendly comments at every opportunity. Engage your guests in brief conversation by asking them how their stay has been. Look for opportunity to solve a problem for a guest. If a guest mentions a problem report it to the appropriate staff member. Be prepared to answer questions about the hotel, area and local attractions. Your knowledge and helpful answers could make a guests stay more enjoyable. Go out of your way to be thoughtful and considerate. Make a positive parting comment and invite guests to come back. Understands food handling procedures. Able to perform cleaning duties. Know local and state health codes pertaining to food handling and sanitation. Work with management to set up efficient and colorful breakfast area. Be able to forecast food and beverage needs. Minimize waste in the preparation of food items and handling food. Be able to order breakfast items and supplies as needed. Assist with receiving and storage of food items and supplies. Inform management with any substandard products, broken equipment, problems, etc. Rotate food items and supplies. Be willing to assist when and wherever needed.
Prerequisites:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the guests who visit the workplace.
Experience:
Previous related experience desired.
Physical:
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual activity, and may on occasion have to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
