Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Cafeteria Worker in the Leake County School District, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create a welcoming and efficient dining environment for our students. In this vital role, you will be responsible for food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean, organized cafeteria space. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will ensure that every guest enjoys a satisfying meal experience. Working in a school, your energy will help foster a friendly atmosphere that encourages healthy eating and excellent service to the Children of Leake County. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of food items with precision and care, adhering to food safety standards and dietary guidelines. Assist in food presentation and portioning to ensure consistent quality for all meals served. May operate cash registers or point-of-sale systems accurately during transactions. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and kitchen equipment to promote a hygienic environment. Monitor food supplies and notify supervisors when stock levels are low to ensure continuous service. Engage with students and guests courteously, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns promptly. Follow all health regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures diligently. Qualifications No prior experience needed, but prior experience in fine dining, food service, or hospitality environments is highly desirable. Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people. Experience serving in cafeterias, catering events, or banquet settings is preferred. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards is essential. Background in the food industry or restaurant experience will be advantageous. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
