Job Description
The Part-Time Cafe Worker supports daily cafe operations by preparing fresh food items, providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and performing general cash-handling procedures. This position ensures that food safety standards are consistently met while contributing to an efficient and customer-focused cafe operation. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:- Greet customers warmly and assist them with cafe orders in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide product information, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding ingredients, preparation methods, and menu options.
- Prepare cafe salads, sandwiches, sides, and hot food items following established recipes and procedures.
- Weigh, package, label, and price cafe products accurately.
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards are strictly followed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including counters, equipment, and display cases.
- Restock cafe cases, shelves, and supplies as needed; rotate products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Operate cafe equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assist with inventory counts and receiving deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with team members, students, and faculty/staff.
- Follow established policies, guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Provide general cash-handling and point-of-sale support as required.
- Maintain a positive and professional relationship with customers, coworkers, and campus staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
