Assistant Food Services Director Trinity Village is seeking an Assistant Food Services Director to help lead daily dining operations and support a positive dining experience for residents. This role assists the Assistant Food Services Director with department oversight, staff support, regulatory compliance, meal accuracy, and coordination with residents, families, and other departments. About the Role The Assistant Food Services Director supports the orderly operation of the Dining Services department and performs duties typically handled by the Director of Dining Services when needed, including during absences or as assigned. Key Responsibilities Assist the Director in ensuring the kitchen operates in an orderly manner and meets health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Visit residents to learn food preferences and periodically evaluate dining service. Process diet changes and new diet orders while helping ensure meal accuracy according to physician orders. Communicate with residents and family members regarding diet requirements as needed. Support employee selection, training, coaching, supervision, and evaluation of Dining Services staff. Help maintain equipment in good repair through appropriate supervision and reporting. Coordinate dietary service with other departments and consult with the Consultant Dietician as needed. Represent Dining Services on facility committees as assigned. Participate in clinical documentation if trained and assigned, including nutritional care plans, care plan meetings, progress notes, and observations related to residents' nutritional status. Participate in continuing education and assist with staff education as assigned. Complete other duties as needed to support the orderly operation of the facility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Dining Services staff. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous food industry experience in a healthcare environment preferred. D.M.A. certification preferred but not required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of local health regulations and state laws related to dining services and food preparation. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Equipment and Technical Skills Candidates should have the knowledge and technical ability to safely operate common dining services equipment, including stoves, ovens, convection ovens, microwave ovens, toasters, blenders, mixers, kitchen utensils, coffee machines, juice machines, meat slicers, steamers, steam tables, kettles, dishwashers, pot sinks, food scales, transport carts, and cleaning equipment. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This role requires the ability to move throughout the facility, lift and carry a minimum of 35 pounds, bend, stoop to the floor, and reach overhead.
