POSITION SUMMARY

The Part-time Cafeteria Support Associate helps ensure smooth daily cafeteria operations by stocking the cafeteria line, dining room condiments, snacks and beverages. Also assisting in simple food prep as well as maintaining a clean, safe environment for students, faculty and staff. This roll is essential in supporting the full-time kitchen staff during busy service periods. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Cafe Line Stocking and Service  Stock and replenish drinks, snacks, condiments, paper products and grab-and-go items in the service area and the dining area  Ensure the serving line is clean, organized and fully stocked before each service period  Keep Café line neat, appealing and ready for student use throughout the day  Maintain cleanliness of the microwaves in dining area Food Preparation Support  Assist with simple prep tasks such as wrapping/boxing, portioning and assembling food items  Support the full-time cooks by completing basic tasks as directed  Practice proper foods safety and handling procedures at all times Cafeteria Operations and Work Environment  Clean and sanitize serving counters, café line area and prep surfaces  Sweep and mop floors in the serving and kitchen areas as needed  Assist in washing dishes, trays, utensils and small equipment  Keep up with fast paced kitchen and cafeteria setting  Frequent lifting, standing, bending and carrying  Exposure to heat, hot surfaces, steam and cleaning chemicals Teamwork and Professionalism  Assist coworkers with various kitchen and cafeteria tasks during high volume periods  Support food service operations during special events or modified schedules  Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude consistent with the school's mission and culture  Assist with unloading food deliveries and restocking of inventory  Maintain a passing Serv-safe certificate Qualification  High school diploma or equivalent preferred  Previous food service experience preferred but not required  Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to cleanliness  Ability to lift 30-50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods  Dependable, punctual and committed to teamwork  Ability to follow all instructions and safety guidelines

Pay:

$12.00 - $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
