Dillsboro, NC About The Jarrett House Established in 1884, The Jarrett House is a historic boutique hotel and beloved landmark in the Great Smoky Mountains. The property features a full-service restaurant, an event hall with bar service, and a retail bakery offering house-made desserts. We blend Southern hospitality with authentic Victorian charm to deliver memorable guest experiences. Position Overview We're hiring an experienced, hands-on Food & Beverage Manager to lead operations across our restaurant, event hall/bar, and retail bakery. You'll own quality, consistency, and profitability—building a strong service culture while preserving our historic character. Key Responsibilities Lead daily operations of the restaurant, event hall/bar, and bakery retail shop inventory.
Manage FOH and BOH teams:
hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance reviews. Partner with the culinary team on menu development, seasonality, costing, and presentation. Our restaurant is family style southern cooking.
Oversee event/banquet execution:
proposals, BEOs, staffing, setup, service, and bar controls. Drive bakery production planning, merchandising, display standards, and retail sales. Maintain strict health, safety, and sanitation compliance (local/state regulations). Own inventory, vendor relations, purchasing, waste control, and COGS targets. Build labor plans, track KPIs, and deliver on budgeted revenue and margin goals. Collaborate with ownership/marketing on promotions, seasonal offerings, and community events. Resolve guest issues promptly and graciously; model a calm, guest-first approach. Qualifications Bachelors Degree in hospitality management, or 3+ years in F&B management (restaurant, hotel, club, or events environment). Proven team leadership and cross-department coordination (kitchen, service, bar, bakery). Strong grasp of P&L levers: labor planning, inventory, costing, and forecasting. Event/banquet operations and bar management experience. Excellent communication, guest recovery, and training skills. POS/scheduling/inventory software proficiency. ServSafe (or equivalent) preferred.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
From $50,000 base (DOE) + performance incentives/bonuses. Employee dining/retail discounts and growth opportunities in a historic, community-focused setting.
