Food Service Assistant

Job Description

Regional West Medical Center is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Food Service Assistant to support the daily operations of our Dietary Department. This role is essential in providing safe, timely, and nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare environment. Food Service Assistants work across multiple areas including food preparation, tray line, cafeteria service, dish room, and room service operations while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service.

A Day in the Life of a Food Service AssistantAs a Food Service Assistant, youll help prepare and serve meals while supporting patients, staff, and visitors. Your day may include working on the tray line, delivering and picking up patient meal trays, and assisting in the cafeteria.

Youll help keep meals accurate by following diet orders and special requests and may assist with tray delivery for patients in isolation, following proper training. Youll also help maintain a clean and safe work environment by washing dishes, sanitizing equipment, and properly handling and storing food.

Throughout your shift, youll provide friendly customer service and step in where needed to support department operations.
