The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a cafe/bakery setting. This role is crucial in supporting the manager of the cafe and ensuring a smooth daily operation of the business. We are looking for an assistant manager who can act as a role model for the staff, demonstrating professionalism, responsibility and dedication.
Responsibilities & Duties:
At Least 40 hours/week of physical presence in the cafe as a Front-of-the House employee. FOH employee's responsibility includes, but not limited to making beverages (Barista) , greeting customers, using pos to make sale, packaging products, displaying products. This should include at least one, if not more, weekend shift per week. Communicate with the manager regarding any FOH related issues
Inventory and Supply Management:
Take inventory, and make sure to prevent any shortages. Restock any items used by FOH Train Front of the House employee
Cleaning and Maintenance:
make sure the cafe maintains a clean environment during work and after work. make sure all equipment used by FOH are cleaned and maintained.
Customer Service:
address customer needs and complaints, ensure a higher standard of service when compared to other employees at the cafe
Cash Handling:
Close out the cash register and ensure all sales are accurately recorded.
Quality check/control:
Follow first-in, first-out for all products, and inspect products daily to check for any defects. Quality check all drinks made by other employees. Report and issues to the management Adherence to
Policies:
ensure that all procedures comply with the rules and policies of the cafe. Add new drink items to the menu (seasonal and/or permanent) Problem solving: address any issues during the work day, whether related to staff, customers, products or operations. communicate with management to find effective solutions
Punctuality:
Maintain a consistent record of punctuality. Arrive at work on time, if not earlier.
