Job Description

Description An exciting opportunity to join the Executive Team of a progressive YMCA association located in vibrant Somerset County, New Jersey. To learn more about GSCY, visit our website: http://gscymca.org Somerville YMCA is seeking a part-time Food Worker to support daily meal service for our Preschool program. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing and distributing meals and maintaining a clean and safe food-service area.
Schedule:
Approximately 2-4 hours per day (9am-1pm)
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and organize daily food and milk deliveries. Prepare and distribute meals, snacks and milk to preschool classrooms. Maintain required meal counts and basic food-service records. Monitor food temperatures and follow food-safety and sanitation procedures. Maintain food and supply inventory and communicate when items need to be reordered. Follow allergy and dietary accommodation procedures. Clean and sanitize food-service areas, carts and equipment. Properly store or dispose of food following meal service. Complete required food-service and CACFP training and documentation, as applicable. Communicate food-delivery or meal-service concerns to the Preschool Program Director. Perform other related food-service duties as assigned.
Requirements Requirements Desired Skills & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food-service, school or childcare experience preferred. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred. Dependable, organized and able to follow established procedures. Ability to complete basic meal counts and records accurately. Ability to lift and transport food and meal-service supplies. Must complete required YMCA and food-service trainings.
