JOB TITLE

Food Service Worker

CONTRACT DURATION

9 weeks - assignment will NOT extend or convert

SHIFT:

Main shift 7a-3p weekends required. Available 4p-8:30p shift available for extra hours

ONBOARDING TIME:

Expect 3-5 weeks from offer acceptance to start date.

• Copy of diploma/transcripts for highest level of completed education.
• Resume with last seven years of work history - all work history gaps of 90+ days must be explained.

REQUIRED CRITERIA

High School diploma or equivalent GED. 6+ months of food service experience - any type of food service. Ability to interact with patients and follow up with tray line set up and production. Ability to follow oral and written instruction and established procedures

DETAILS ABOUT THE POSITION

Shifts vary between 7a-3p and 4p-8p including weekdays and weekends. Performs a variety of duties related to the preparation and serving of food to the patients. Ability to interact with patients and follow up with tray line set up and production.

Dress code:

kitchen attire: work shirt/pants slip resistant shoes.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures. Sets up and serves patient trays in accordance with the established schedule. Cleans the kitchen area dish room area tray line area and equipment. Maintains a sanitary work environment in accordance with established policies and procedures. Works on patient tray line assembling patient trays with a minimum of error. Operates dishwater to ensure all dishes and utensils are clean and sanitized. Alerts the supervisor to mechanical problems or product run out. Prepares menu items according to dietary patterns. Communicates to the supervisor potential problems to ensure quality control. Prepares loads and transports patient trays. Assist in catering set up of functions per department needs. Collects processes and disposes of trash cans bottles plastic glass in accordance with established policies and procedures and transports to disposal area. Completes work within designated time frame. Displays courtesy and sensitivity to patients. Responds promptly to patients complaints. Provides care appropriate to the age of the patient when delivering patient trays. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food defective supplies equipment or other unusual condition. Staff friendly distinctive uniform name badge and hair covering are in place neat and clean appearance. Attends mandatory in services and meetings. Assists the hospital and the department in meeting and exceeding their commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement. Work assigned position based on department needs.
