Job Description
Job Summary/Objective The Food Services Support role is a member of the HALI Recovery team. This position supports the daily operation of the HALI Kitchen by preparing and serving meals, maintaining kitchen and pantry inventory, coordinating food orders and deliveries, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organized, and fully stocked. The Food Services Support staff member works closely with the Hospitality Lead and must be able to independently support kitchen operations and meal preparation when the Hospitality Lead is unavailable, ensuring continuity of meal services for participants Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities Project positive image of Hands Across Long Island, Inc. Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with established menus and food safety standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with all applicable food safety standards. Track stock and place orders to address kitchen and pantry needs. Coordinate with kitchen and outreach programs to ensure food and supply needs are met. Pick up food orders and donations from Island Harvest, Long Island Cares, and other vendors as assigned. Organize, receive, store, and rotate kitchen and pantry inventory using proper food storage procedures Promote overall agency vision of recovery, peer support, empowerment, and social justice. Support additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to meet the evolving needs of the team and organization.
