The Assistant Catering Manager position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We are seeking someone with a passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to continue developing their expertise in catering operations, event coordination, and client service. A proactive mindset, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism are essential for success in this role. Flexibility is also important, as extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required during peak seasons and special events. Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service by taking catering orders in person and over the phone, ensuring accuracy and a positive experience Assist with event planning, including menu selection and customization Coordinate with external vendors for rentals, staffing, and additional event needs Process online orders and manage payment transactions Organize and oversee pick-up and delivery schedules Support the Catering Manager with administrative and clerical tasks Assist with in-store demonstrations and promotional events Participate in catering deliveries and on-site event support as needed Address customer inquiries and resolve concerns promptly and professionally Build and maintain strong relationships with customers Process weekly gratuities Perform additional duties as assigned Key Functions Plan and execute events from start to finish based on client needs, audience, and objectives Develop creative ideas to enhance event success Source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships Support promotional efforts for catering services and events Supervise event staff and ensure smooth operations Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during events Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous experience as an Event Manager, Catering Manager, or Assistant Catering Manager within food and beverage Strong project management skills Familiarity with KPIs and marketing strategies related to event planning Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Strong organizational abilities with effective problem-solving skills Outgoing, assertive, and a collaborative team player with leadership capabilities Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Commissions - paid monthly (in addition to base salary) 50% off employee lunch 25% off in-store shopping Supportive team environment with opportunities for growth Working Conditions This role requires continuous movement on hard surfaces and may involve bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting.
