Qualifications:
1. Valid driver's license.2. High school diploma or equivalent.3. Experience in the preparation of school lunches.4. Be clean, neat and over 18 years of age.5. Have the ability to organize and carry out lunchroom procedures.6. Professional tact, diplomacy and presentation with administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents and the community.7. Conscientious and assumes responsibility for own work performance.8. Good health, high moral character and good attendance record.9. Demonstrate enthusiasm and a sincere desire to aid all students.
General Description:
Assist with food preparation serving and general clean including dishwashing. Must have basic computer skills and be able to run computerized cash register systems.
Summary:
Prepare and serve nutritious and attractive meals for consumption in the school cafeteria by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve nutritious and attractive mealsAssist with meal production as directedMaintain and apply all safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards and practices in all food service areas as required by federal, state, local and district regulations and policies.

Operate production equipment and dishwashing equipmentCompile and maintain appropriate records and formsReceive, stock and inventory food and suppliesTransport food and supplies and cash bags/boxes when necessaryCompile and maintain appropriate records for federal, state and local regulations and reportsPublic relations as necessaryCoordination and implementation for sales promotionsUnderstand and determine qualified meals and qualified components of mealsMonitor reimbursable meal qualification at point of serviceStock, display and present merchandiseAssist in coordination of events and activitiesAssist in operation of facilities and directed by Director and/or SupervisorCoordinate meal production in absence of Kitchen SupervisorMeet and service the needs of clientele in a timely fashion and in a pleasant and appropriate mannerAssist in the operation of facilities as directed by Director and/or SupervisorOther duties as assigned by Director and/or designee
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings. 2. Help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values. 3. Conduct other duties related to the cook's duties as assigned by the Cafeteria Manager and/or food service supervisor.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. 2. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions. 3. Occasional interaction among unruly children. 4. Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
