Summary:

Sets up and tears down banquet rooms and preps for upcoming events. Keeps Banquet kitchen and storage areas clean and organized. The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

Essential Job Functions:

Setting up events according to banquet event order (BEO): tables, chairs, buffet lines, drink stations, bars and service breakdown stations. Tears down room set up at conclusion of event by removing chairs, tables, and related items and returning to storage area, making sure banquet equipment is clean and in good working condition before storing.

Prepares carts for upcoming events:

linen, rolled silverware, filled salt and pepper shakers, sugar bowls, goblets, coffee cups, coffee service items. Polishes all service ware to Spirit Mountain standards. Clears dirty dishes from tables, cleans food and debris from tables, chairs, floors and other areas. Busses tables and other serving areas. Other duties as assigned

Required Skill in:

Be able to work independently or with a team. Ability to follow directions and complete tasks given. Communicating both orally and in writing. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent, and three (3) months cleaning or customer service work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Low security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission. State of Oregon Food Handler's Certificate. If applicable, State of Oregon Liquor Control Commission Server's Permit may be required. Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in a food service environment with routine exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or tobacco smoke and occasional exposure to extreme cold or heat and potentially toxic or caustic chemicals. Work is subject to frequent standing and walking, with occasional sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is subject to frequent use of hands and arms to finger, handle, feel and reach.

Equipment and Tools Utilized:

Equipment utilized includes box knife, card board crusher, and tools and equipment normally used in providing food and beverages such as coffee urns, espresso machines, soft drink machines, push carts, tables, chairs, trays, bus tubs, utensils, serving plates and two-way radio.
