Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Meal Distribution Assistant to support our food service operations. This role involves lifting, moving, and organizing food items for meal distribution at our middle school campus. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and committed to ensuring all students receive meals. (This is a physically demanding job. You will be lifting, bending, reaching, and moving your entire shift).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Move, lift, and organize food supplies in preparation for meal assembly Assemble and distribute meals for 290 students according to daily menus Prepare and distribute breakfast items to students with attention to quantity and quality standards Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the serving area Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed Follow all food handling, health, and safety guidelines Communicate any supply shortages, packaging issues, or concerns to the Nutrition Head Relationship Management and Key Competencies Build/maintain relationships both internally and externally for positive outcomes. Collaborates with personnel and peers for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or programs. Inspires groups of individuals to work together to achieve a common purpose, promotes a culture of open communication and respect. Actively promotes best practices for processes and standards and seeks to improve outcomes. Never accepts excuses for breaches of ethics, values or regulations and confronts potential behavior in others. Encourages constructive feedback and a culture that provides opportunities to develop.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and ability to stand, lift, bend, and move for extended periods Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (training provided if necessary) Effective time management skills, ability to communicate effectively, multi-task and problem solving. High school diploma required. First Aid, CPR, AED, MANDT, Meals Training, Food Handlers, and Bloodborne certification required. (training will be provided) Oregon Fingerprint and Criminal Check. (provided by school) Code of Conduct and Ethics Agreement signed upon employment.
SALARY, HOURS, APPLICATION AND REPORTING
Hourly
  • $17.00/hour
  • $20.
00/hour Depending on experience.
Hours of operation:
Monday through Thursday, 11:00 am to 1:30 pm; Reports to Lead Nutrition, and building administration for various functions as required.

Work Year:
September through June Sample work day: 11:00 AM
  • 11:30 AM Prepare the lunch area for service. Receive the food delivery from Reynolds. Food temping. Set up the designated space for meal service and hand-washing. 11:30 AM
  • 1:00 PM Serve lunch to students for three different lunch periods: Lunch 1: 11:26
  • 11:56, Lunch 2: 11:59
  • 12:29, Lunch 3: 12:32
  • 1:02 1:00 PM
  • 1:30 PM Clean up after lunch service and reset items.
Document items needing to be restocked. Use any remaining time to tidy your area.
