THE POSITION

The Corrections Food Service Instructor position at the Department of Corrections, SCI-Camp Hill offers a meaningful way to support daily operations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position leads inmate workers in food service tasks and supports safe, efficient meal production at SCI-Camp Hill. As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

Vocational Training:

Teach inmates food preparation, baking, equipment use, and safe sanitation practices

Operational Oversight:

Inspect food areas and supplies, adjust recipes, and ensure proper storage methods

Work Supervision:

Plan and review inmate assignments and maintain records of performance

Custody Control:

Maintain care, custody, and control of inmates during work activities

Resource Management:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40-hour work week Work hours to be determined. This is shift work with rotating days off. Shifts are awarded based on bidding and seniority. You will have a paid lunch period.

Salary:

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $49,010 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
