About Hillcrest Hillcrest Golf & Country Club is a semi-private, 18 hole championship course with a full-service dining, lounge, and events facility serving members, guests, and the Yankton community. Position Summary The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in daily operations staffing, financial performance, service standards, events, F&B, and the overall member experience. This role provides visible clubhouse leadership, coordinates across departments, and helps ensure Hillcrest operates with professionalism, consistency, and a member-first culture.
Key Responsibilities Club Leadership:
Support the GM in daily operations, service standards, issue resolution, and manager-on-duty coverage.
Department Coordination:
Work with golf, grounds, kitchen, service, and administration teams to align schedules, events, communication, and members services.
F&B:
Oversee dining, lounge, bar, banquet, and golf event service while maintaining quality, efficiency, inventory, purchasing, and cost controls.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and hold clubhouse service staff accountable to hospitality, and performance expectations.
Financial and Admin Support:
Assist with budgets, labor planning, revenues, expenses, vendor, relationships, reporting, and policy compliance.
Member and Event Experience:
Plan and execute member events, tournaments, outings, banquets, and private functions while responding prefessionally to member and guest needs. Qualifications Hospitality, club, restaurant, resort, event venue, or related operations management experience. Proven ability to lead teams, manage schedules, train employees, coach performance, and maintain accoutability. Working knowledge of F&B operations, cost controls, POS systems, inventory, purchasing, labor planning, and events. Strong judgement, communication, cross department coordination, and member-service skills. Ability to serve as manager on duty and represent the club professionally in the GM absence. Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and seasonal golf-event schedules as needed. South Dakota alcohol server or manager certification, or ability to obtain certification within an appropriate timeframe. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
