Prep Cook/Dining Hall Attendant Saxtons River, VT Description:
SAGE Dining Services® is seeking Prep Cook/ Dining Hall Attendant to join our culinary team at a private boarding school in Saxtons River, VT. A prep cook is the backbone of a professional kitchen. They do the essential groundwork before service begins, such as washing and chopping produce, butchering meats, portioning ingredients, and making basic sauces. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, in a fun work environment with great benefits! Schedule:
We are open seven days a week following the school calendar. We have two different schedules we can discuss during the interview. 6 AM
  • 4 PM 11 AM
  • 8 PM We can teach people who really are interested in learning and want a career in food service, or if you are experienced in this role, you can jump right into the job.

What you'll do: Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing. Interact cheerfully with SAGE guests and Team Members and provide service with a smile. Prepare assigned menu items in strict accordance with SAGE recipes. Clean, restock, and replenish serving lines and stations to ensure our guests enjoy amazing dining experiences. Clean all work areas and customer service areas on an ongoing basis. Use proper food handling, storage, and sanitation techniques always (HACCP). Assist in training new culinary Team Members. Endure exposure to extreme temperatures; intense heat and freezing cold. Adapt to additional duties as assigned by management. What you'll need: Experience as a Prep Cook or Cook preferred, but not required. Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail. Ability to properly set up a buffet or serving station. Experience in customer service strongly preferred, but not required. Food safety certifications as required by jurisdiction.
