Job Summary:

Sunshine Drip in Coupeville is seeking experienced and motivated Food Prepper to join our dynamic team. We are a very busy cafe and are looking for a part-time employee (potentially lead to full time) who can adapt to a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate needs to be self motivating, food preparation skills, baking knowledge, creatively solve problems, adjust plans, a strong work ethic, work in the evenings, and thrive in a position that allows you to work alone.

Additional qualifications:

Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods. Flexible schedule, including nights, and weekends. Food handlers permit required. This job does include the tip pool. This job is paid weekly including tips.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare food, dishes etc. by following menu specifications and health standards.
• maintain kitchen equipment.
• Portioning
• Preparing food quickly and efficiently.
• Assist in light baking and ingredient preparation for the next day's service.
• Adhere to food safety regulations for proper handling and hygiene.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Slicing, using sharp knives, knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ensure proper food handling and sanitation standards are followed at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout the shift.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with restocking ingredients.
• Follow proper portion control and presentation standards.
• Assist in other kitchen duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in culinary roles such as Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar positions.
• Familiarity with food preparation, handling, and culinary techniques.
• Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Experience in fine dining or similar upscale culinary environments is a plus.
