Food Service Assistant Job Summary:
The position will work at Memorial Union's Peets Coffee assisting with the daily operations including preparing and serving beverages, operating the register, stocking merchandise/food/beverages and maintaining inventory levels. The role requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential to create a friendly and positive experience for all patrons. Ability to stand for 6-8 hrs.Compensation:
$17.00- Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked (6pm-6am).
- Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked.
- Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays.
Schedule:
Monday- Wednesday 7:30am
- 3:30pm, Saturday and/or Sunday 7:30am
- 2:30pm OR 10:30
- 6:30 (Schedule requires flexibility
- depending on needs for coverage)
Key Job Responsibilities:
Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning, chopping food, and serving food to customers Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities Prepares a variety of basic dishes such as sandwiches and salads, and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes Assists and guides student workers Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areasDepartment:
