Job Description

New Sagaya is a 100% Employee Owned Company We are seeking a skilled and dependable Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in meat preparation, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to food safety and quality.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler Card . Must be able to work a shift time of 6am-2pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Work:
Complete daily cut and cleaning list with the team .
Meat Preparation & Cutting :
Cut, trim, debone, and grind various meats including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
Customer Service :
Assist customers with special orders, answer questions about meat cuts, and offer cooking advice.
Display & Merchandising :
Maintain attractive and sanitary meat displays that comply with health regulations. Package product for retail and wholesale.
Inventory Management :
Monitor stock levels, rotate inventory, and ensure all products are fresh and within sell-by dates.
Sanitation & Safety :
Keep work area clean and sanitary; follow all food safety procedures and properly maintain equipment.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proficient with knives, saws, grinders, and other meat processing tools. Strong knowledge of meat cuts and preparation methods. Familiarity with food safety regulations and safe handling practices. Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items. Detail-oriented with a focus on minimizing waste and maximizing yield. Strong communication skills and ability to work well with customers and team members.
