About the Role The Meat Filler is responsible for filling exhibition cases, maintaining product rotation, and ensuring fresh, appealing displays while providing outstanding customer service. This role supports sales goals by stocking, cleaning, suggestive selling, and ensuring honesty in packaging, weights, and pricing. What You'll Do Smile and greet customers with outstanding service. Refill exhibition cases, rotate products, and replace tray signs. Meet customer requests while ensuring accuracy in packaging, weight, and pricing. Promote sales by suggestive selling and preparing marinated meats and vegetables. Keep displays, counters, and cases clean, organized, and presentable. Stock and fill meat display cases and coolers as needed. Transport products to and from coolers and worktables. Notify management when supplies or products are needed. Ensure case temperatures are accurate, report discrepancies to the Meat Manager. Maintain knowledge of all product codes and uses; follow state weights and measures laws. Apply strict cleaning and sanitation processes. Work safely, respecting co-workers and customers. Assist coworkers and work as part of a team. Follow health code regulations, food safety standards, and company dress code. Abide by store rules and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Do not use machinery without proper training/authorization. Report on equipment issues to the Meat Manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Stand and walk constantly (6-8+ hours/day). Frequently bend neck and waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders. Frequent repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Heaviest item carried:
50 lbs., up to 100 feet. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other moving equipment. Work near equipment and machinery; exposure to noise and temperature/humidity changes. No work at heights; no walking on uneven ground. What We're Looking For Ability to learn all codes for meat, seafood, and cremeria products. Basic understanding of English language. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Work Environment Fast-paced retail meat department with direct customer interaction. Exposure to perishable products, refrigerated coolers, and changing conditions. Collaborative, team-focused environment.
