This energetic position involves expertly preparing, cutting, and packaging a variety of meats to meet the highest standards of food safety and quality. Your culinary skills and attention to detail will ensure that every cut is precise, visually appealing, and ready for retail or culinary use. We're looking for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about food preparation and customer service. Responsibilities Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat using knives and meat processing machines, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. Operate meat slicing and trimming equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures. Package meat products accurately for retail display or culinary use, maintaining proper labeling and freshness standards. Conduct visual inspections of meat for quality control, identifying any defects or spoilage in accordance with food safety management protocols. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment following strict food safety sanitizing procedures. Assist customers with product selection, answer questions about cuts and preparation methods, providing excellent customer service. Manage perishable goods by monitoring expiration dates, proper storage temperatures, and inventory levels to minimize waste. Experience Prior experience in food production or food preparation within a retail store environment is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with meat processing machines, knife skills, and slicing techniques. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitizing procedures, and quality control standards in the food industry. Experience handling various meats including beef, pork, poultry, and fish; culinary experience is a plus. Ability to perform basic math calculations for portioning, weight measurements, and inventory management. Strong understanding of food handling regulations and visual inspection for quality assurance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced setting.
