Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Meat Cutter to join our team. Duties will include breaking down carcasses, deboning, grinding, slicing, and portioning meat according to customer or business specifications. You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, cleaning work areas, and ensuring that all products are labeled and stored correctly. This position requires physical stamina as you will be standing for long periods and lifting heavy items. You must also be comfortable working in cold environments such as walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
Responsibilities:
Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats using knives and power equipment Prepare meat cuts to customer specifications or business needs Ensure proper storage and rotation of meat products Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations Label and package meat products accurately Sharpen and maintain cutting tools and equipment Safe and efficient use of knives, saws, and other processing equipment Assisting with other duties in the plant as needed
Requirements:
Experience is a plus but training is provided Understanding of safety and meat processing protocols Ability to work in a physically demanding environment Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods
