Washington SHOP 'n SAVE is looking for a dependable Meat Cutter / Meat Department Associate to join our team. We are happy to consider both experienced meat cutters and someone 18 or older who is hardworking, dependable, and interested in learning the meat-cutting trade. If you have the right attitude and want to learn, we are willing to train you. Schedule This is a full-time, 8-hour morning shift with a consistent, set schedule. Start anytime between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM Work an 8-hour shift Set, consistent weekly schedule Overtime is available for anyone interested in additional hours This is a great opportunity for someone who likes starting early, having a predictable schedule, and being finished earlier in the day. Responsibilities Cut, trim, and prepare fresh beef and pork for retail sale Cut from boxed beef and pork primals Portion steaks, roasts, chops, and other retail cuts Wrap, weigh, label, and price fresh meat Maintain attractive and properly stocked meat displays Keep cutting equipment, work areas, and department surfaces clean and sanitary Follow food safety and proper meat-handling procedures Assist with receiving and organizing meat deliveries Rotate product and maintain proper freshness and quality Provide friendly customer service when needed Perform other meat department duties as assigned Experience Experienced meat cutters are welcome and encouraged to apply. Experience working with boxed beef and pork primals is a plus. No professional meat-cutting experience? That's okay. We are also interested in applicants age 18+ who are dependable, willing to work, and genuinely interested in learning how to cut meat. We are willing to teach the right person: How to break down boxed beef and pork primals Different retail cuts of beef and pork Proper use of meat-cutting equipment Trimming and portioning techniques Wrapping, weighing, and labeling Proper sanitation and food-safety procedures What We're Looking For Must be 18 years of age or older Dependable and punctual Willing to learn and take direction Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment Able to safely lift and handle boxes of meat and other department products Strong work ethic Attention to detail and product quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cutter looking for a steady position or for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade and build a career in the meat business.
Pay:
