Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION
The Dealer shall be responsible for the efficient and responsible operation of the table games in the casino and shall conduct the games of blackjack and other games played on the tables in an efficient and responsible manner. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Gaming Operation's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK
EXPERIENCE
Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED). Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. Work nights, weekends and holidays as required. Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening. Must possess excellent communication skills. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Applicants must successfully complete blackjack training, and may be able to deal other games. Applicant must be fast and accurate in handling cash. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money. Previous customer service experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides prompt, courteous and accurate dealing at assigned table. Meets and greets the customers in a manner consistent with good business practices. Maintains a continuous inspection of cards, ensuring the security of the same at all times. Exchanges customer currency for checks (chips) and deposits paper currency in the proper container (drop box); ensures the safety of all gaming chips and monies entrusted. Assists customer in playing and ensures adherence to established rules, policies and procedures. Reports any safety hazards to immediate supervisor. Always conducts self in a manner that reflects credit on the casino and encourages others to do the same. Must abide by the dress code maintaining the professional appearance of the table at all times. Conducts the games of blackjack and other games played on the tables in an efficient and responsible manner. Keeps the working environment in a clean and safe manner. Must be able to work well with Co-workers/Supervisor/Managers. Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times. Maintains a professional work environment with supervisors and staff. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies. Attends all necessary training meetings. Assists in other projects, as directed. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule. Performs other related reasonable duties capable of being performed as requested by Management.
