Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Japanese cuisine, exceptional knife skills, and a dedication to food safety and quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft authentic sushi dishes in a fine dining environment, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Duties Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and presentation standards Develop and refine sushi menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences Ensure all food preparation meets food safety standards and maintains high hygiene practices Handle raw fish and other ingredients with proper food handling procedures Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including tools and work surfaces Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation during service hours Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels Contribute to the overall ambiance of the dining experience through professional service and presentation Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or fine dining setting Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi techniques, and food presentation standards Exceptional knife skills and proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly Experience with menu planning, food handling, and maintaining food safety standards Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required Prior experience in the food industry, including catering or food service roles, is advantageous Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Culinary experience with a focus on seafood preparation is preferred Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
