WELCOME TO CREATIVE HANDS CUISINE!
We are a gourmet, full service catering company that creates one-of-a-kind events across Arizona. We are currently looking to add to our team of catering chefs: shifts are dependent on our events schedule, including weekday afternoons & Holidays. Shifts typically are 4-6 hours and are sent in advance. Prior to events, chefs will prep and pack all items, allowing our events to bet setup for a truly successful event with the freshest of cuisine prepared on site. At events, chefs are responsible for on site preparation of event cuisine. Primary Responsibilities Ability to prepare fresh cuisine on site at venues across Phoenix typically. Larger scale events require some chefs to travel to Sedona for extra incentive. Follows recipes, portion controls, and procedures Cleans and maintains station up to standards while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills Possess creativity, desirability to learn, and has uttermost respect for food Answers, reports, and follows Executive or Sous Chef's instructions Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the satellite kitchen Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the chef or sous chef at any time Prepares food to be served within the outlet according to the standards set forth based on proper presentation methods and service standards. They prepare meals based on established specific recipes and number of guests being served. Responsible for ensuring all food standards. Estimate food consumption; then requisition or purchase supplies, or procure food from storage. Portion, arrange and garnish food as well as assist expo in the expediting of orders. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, fryers and roasters. Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience. Wash, peel, cut and deseed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption. Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to spec recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices. Assist all fellow co-workers as needed. Grill, deep fry, bake broil and microwave raw and prepared foods. Measure and assemble ingredients and cook all items according to specific recipe and menu guidelines. Maintain a cooking line in a clean, sanitary and safe manner. Stock/restock items on line according to specifications. Wash and clean raw food products. Peeling, dicing, shredding and slicing food products using electric equipment. Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands after using the restroom, etc.) Review work procedures and operational problems in order to determine ways to improve service, performance and/or safety.
Required Qualifications:
Food Handlers Card required Minimum 4 year's restaurant/catering chef experience as a prep and/or line cook Kitchen sensed, self-motivated, driven, organized, and clean Ability to receive feedback and take instructions Understanding of professional cooking, knife handling skills, and various cuisines Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures Excellent customer service and a hospitable attitude Professional communication skills Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, carries and pushes. Lifts and carries supplies, and cases, weighing up to 50 lbs. Essential hand/eye coordination. Work is normally performed in a typical interior restaurant work environment. Noise level is moderate to high. Limited exposure to physical risk. Moderate physical effort required
