Job Discription:
Position Purpose:

The Pastry Chef will effectively assist in the operation of prepared foods and work with the Executive Chef to achieve sales and customer service goals established for the department. A Pastry Chef has a keen eye for Food Safety and Sanitation and will be able to help in stocking, production, and merchandising while offering unmatched customer service.

Responsibilities:

A Pastry Chef is a responsible, friendly person who can safely work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.

A Pastry Chef's responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for production, ordering, merchandising, achieving goals on sales and profits, controlling inventory and out of stocks, sanitation, shrink, supplies, equipment, and safety.
  • Assist with menu planning and development including creativity and experimentation with new trends and menu ideas and recipes to create AJ's exclusive pastries and expand the offerings in our Boulangeries.
  • Ensurepliance with heath department and weights and measures requirements.
  • Maintain openmunication with all members of the kitchen and department manager.
  • Work with the Catering Director and Executive Chef on menu planning and facilitating the production of catering menus to ensure profitability, variety and AJ's quality standards.
  • Maintain a high degree of cleanliness throughout preparation area.
  • Must be able to correctly operate a cash register including proper cash handling and all forms of tender perpany policy, e.g., cash, checks, credit cards ATM.
  • All other related duties as assigned

Standing, Sitting, Lifting + Stocking (Up to 50 lbs.), Pushing, Keyboarding, Telephone Use, Walking, Bending
