Pay:
Starting $16.00 per hour training period Overview Join our dynamic team as Assistant to Chef, where your food preparation and culinary experience will complement our kitchen operations and excellent team. This job requires supporting the Head Chef in preparing 9 meals and 5 burrito bars weekly, setting up for buffet style meal service, and managing daily kitchen and dining room activities, ensuring exceptional food quality, and maintaining an efficient work environment. Experience in preparing wholesome and healthy garden to table recipes a must. Experience in or willingness to learn about cooking from "scratch" with a variety of dietary requests, vegetarian, keto, vegan and other food sensitivities a must. A current food handlers certificate is required. Duties- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet high-quality standards.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on excellence and efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management and control to ensure proper stock levels, minimize waste, and optimize food costs.
- Implement and enforce food safety sanitizing procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and cleanliness standards.
- Coordinate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and menu modifications for diverse guest requirements.
