Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation, and will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety standards. If you have experience in a restaurant setting and possess excellent knife skills, we would love to hear from you. Responsibilities Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high quality and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene practices. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items and seasonal offerings. Manage inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and quality. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques. Participate in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service to clients. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant environment. Strong knife skills with the ability to prepare fish and other ingredients safely and efficiently. Knowledge of food handling procedures and dietary requirements related to sushi preparation. Experience working in a catering setting is a plus. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for culinary arts with an eagerness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
