Job Description

Award winning restaurant group, The Peasant & The Pear, INC. by Chef Rodney Worth, is seeking a Sous Chef to join the kitchen management team at The Peasant & The Pear in Danville.

This is a full-time, hourly, management position reporting to the restaurants Executive Chef/Owner.
Candidates must have:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a sous chef or lead line cook in a high volume restaurant, including responsibility for kitchen staff, inventory, and quality control.
  • Creativity and passion for excellent food, with experience in a variety of cuisine, including mother sauces
  • Proficient computer skills which are needed for scheduling, ordering, and inventory
  • Proven leadership qualities, including initiative, maturity, organizational skills, good judgement & professionalism
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; Spanish is a plus
  • Flexibility & a willingness to learn
  • Culinary degree a plus
Your Role:
As Sous Chef, you'll be the backbone of our kitchen operations, working closely with our Head Chef to:

Oversee daily kitchen operations and food preparationMentor and support kitchen staff, fostering a positive, collaborative environmentMaintain consistency and quality across all dishesManage inventory, ordering, and kitchen organizationContribute creative ideas to menu development and seasonal specialsEnsure compliance with food safety and health standardsLead by example with attention to detail, efficiency, and professionalismIf you're an experienced cook ready to step into a leadership position at a restaurant that truly values its team and its food, we'd love to hear from you.
