Sushi Chef

We are a small, sit-down restaurant with bar-side seating in Galt, CA (near Elk Grove) looking to immediately hire an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong knife skills, a keen eye for presentation, and the ability to prepare both basic and specialty rolls according to our established menu. You'll be working in an intimate setting where quality and consistency matter.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare sushi, sashimi, and a variety of basic and specialty rolls per the restaurant's menu
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety standards
• Manage fish and ingredient preparation, including cutting, slicing, and portioning
• Monitor freshness and quality of all ingredients; manage inventory and minimize waste
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and timely service

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of hands-on sushi preparation experience in a restaurant setting
• Proficiency in preparing both classic and specialty rolls
• Ability to follow an established menu accurately and consistently
• Reliable, professional, and able to work flexible hours
